Software Engineer (Contract)

We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering modern, cloud-native software solutions.
This is a hands-on development role where you'll work across the full software development lifecycle, building scalable applications and collaborating with product owners, platform engineers and data scientists.
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Python, TypeScript or .NET (C#)
- Experience building cloud-native applications and microservices
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and modern software engineering practices
- SQL and/or NoSQL database experience
- CI/CD and automated testing experience
- Agile development experience
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Exposure to AI/ML technologies is beneficial but not essential
Security Clearance
- Current SC Clearance is desirable
- Must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance
Travel Requirements
The role requires travel to the Lake District approximately 2–3 days per week during the initial onboarding period, reducing to around one visit per month thereafter.
