Position Overview

Summit Global Investments (SGI) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team. This role offers meaningful ownership across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and database design through deployment, iteration, and long-term scalability.

You’ll work closely with leadership, product stakeholders, and fellow engineers to build modern financial technology systems that directly support the firm’s growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, pragmatic, and excited to make a significant impact within a lean, fast-moving environment.

While Bountiful, UT is preferred, we are open to remote candidates for the right individual.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain production web applications using modern server-side rendering frameworks
• Own data modeling, schema design, migrations, and query optimization in PostgreSQL
• Contribute to architecture and technology decisions as a senior technical voice on a small team
• Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders in an agile environment
• Mentor teammates through thoughtful code reviews and technical guidance
• Take ownership of features from concept through production deployment
• Help improve development workflows, system reliability, and engineering best practices

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with modern SSR frameworks. Next.js strongly preferred (Nuxt, Remix, SvelteKit, or similar also considered applicable)
• Deep working knowledge of PostgreSQL using Supabase, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and performance optimization
• Experience working within agile software development environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A pragmatic engineering mindset — understanding when to optimize and when to execute quickly
• Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively within a small team
• Passion projects and founder experience are strongly considered

Nice to Have

• Background in finance, fintech, banking, trading, or financial services
• Knowledge of systems like Envestnet Tamarac, Wealthbox, and e-money
• Experience working on small, highly collaborative engineering teams
• React / Vue.js / TypeScript / Node.js ecosystem experience
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and modern deployment workflows
• Experience building scalable APIs and backend infrastructure
