Tech Lead Engineer - Device Agent
Indexed description
Trusted by many of the world's Fortune 500 companies, Zenity provides centralized visibility, vulnerability assessments, and governance by continuously scanning business-led development environments.
We recently raised $38 million in a Series B funding, solidifying our position as a leader in the industry and enabling us to accelerate our mission of securing AI Agents everywhere.
What You’ll Do:
Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical strategy for Zenity's cross-platform endpoint agent, focusing on C#/.NET core logic while ensuring production readiness across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Provide technical leadership to a distributed team of engineers, raising technical expertise and engineering practices across the organization.
- Own features from discovery to delivery, solving complex domain problems across a managed fleet of enterprise devices.
- Maintain a hands-on approach by writing code and mentoring engineers to elevate the organization's technical capabilities.
- Architect the agent using C# and platform-specific extensions, ensuring performant integration with each operating system's security frameworks.
- Own high-impact technical decisions that balance velocity, security, and reliability.
- Deliver maintainable features supported by comprehensive testing, metrics, and monitoring.
- Shape the agent roadmap and ensure resilient production systems in collaboration with cross-functional leadership.
- Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Champion AI-assisted engineering across the team - set the bar for how coding agents accelerate delivery, and establish the practices and guardrails that keep output production-grade.
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering device agent software at scale in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end and mentor technical teams.
- Deep expertise in endpoint agent development (EDR/XDR), OS internals, and security distribution models including code signing, notarization (or equivalent), and MDM deployment.
- Experience with reverse engineering and platform-specific facilities such as eBPF on Linux or WFP, minifilters, and kernel drivers on Windows.
- Proficiency in native systems languages (e.g., Swift, C/C++) is a valuable secondary skill for platform-specific extensions.
- High proficiency in C# and the .NET runtime, including P/Invoke interop.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, C++, shell scripting or Python is an advantage.
- Experience writing code in Agile, CI/CD-based delivery environments.
- Advantage: experience working on large-scale cloud-based services.
- Outstanding collaboration skills and a pragmatic approach to leading in high-velocity environments.
- Flexibility, resilience, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents and assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) in day-to-day development, with the judgment to know when to delegate to an agent and when to go deep yourself.
- A habit of reviewing, verifying, and taking full ownership of AI-generated code - correctness, security, and performance - regardless of how it was produced.
