Indexed description

Imagine a Coca-Cola team coming to you. They need to grow their business, solve a complex customer problem, or collaborate with an internal partner. You are asked to help because you:

  • Are savvy and spot people and business nuances,
  • Are adept at deploying collaboration tools and methodologies, and
  • Can create dynamic physical and intellectual environments.

They also trust your ability to think without a personal agenda. You care about The Coca-Cola Company's interests but in ways which better everyone involved. You are motivated by driving the business and bring a contagious blend of energy and charisma. That is your opportunity as The Vault's next Director, Collaborative Value Creation (a.k.a. 'Collaboration Architect').

Description of The Vault

The Vault is Coca-Cola's collaboration and growth center. Customer teams and their customers, commercial leaders, and cross-functional partners seek out The Vault Team to solve complex business challenges. Through facilitated strategy sessions, design-thinking methods, and immersive collaboration experiences, we help teams turn ambiguity into aligned action.

The Vault is a part of Coca-Cola's North America Sales Organization, and we are all employees of The Company. We have a business-within-a-business feel with all the benefits of being Coca-Cola but greater autonomy and risk-taking. Our leaders value and protect our independence because they know we challenge the broader organization to think differently, be nimbler, and move faster.

Our aspiration is customers or partners see so much value from working with us, that they trust us with an internal issue or challenge not related to Coca-Cola's business.

Key Responsibilities

As The Vault's Director of Collaboration Strategy & Facilitation, you will:

  • Project Manage with Confidence
    • We do 70+ sessions/year. For every hour facilitating a session, we spend an hour preparing a team. This role plays a huge role in those preparations. You are not an order taker, but rather a trusted consultant, coach, and provocateur.
    • You will help teams frame problems, reimagine strategies, elevate thinking, and make connections between their and the other party's agenda.
    • Work closely with three other colleagues. Each has a superpower. You will amplify their strengths and compensate for their weaknesses. (As much as you give, you will get!)
    • Move with speed, urgency, and accountability. For many groups coming to The Vault, this is their biggest meeting of the year.
  • Facilitate Game-Changing Sessions with Teams
    • Architect bold, curiosity-driven collaboration events from concept to execution designed to unlock fresh perspectives and actionable output.
    • Leverage your talents to bring groups together, energize thinking, and crush self-serving agendas with grace.
    • Infuse every session with Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design, or other innovation frameworks.
  • Evolve The Vault
    • Co-lead development of new offerings to scale The Vault's impact, fuel The Vault's reputation as a must-have partner for growth, and take risks no one else in The Company would take.
    • Gather insights, iterate on designs, and help shape the future of collaboration at Coca-Cola and with its partners.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree valued.
  • Experience: 10+ years of job experience with a portion in sales, customer leadership, or account management of sophisticated businesses
  • Knowledge: consultative or solutions-based selling, negotiations, Design Thinking or Human Centered Design
  • Industry: experience with the CPG Industry or with The Coca-Cola Company and its Bottlers
  • Leadership & Growth Behaviors: Make Courageous Choices, Influence Across the Network, Foster Innovation, Act as a Change Agent, Build Inclusion, Thrive in Ambiguity, Apply an Enterprise Mindset

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven facilitation and project management experience (bonus points if you have worked in consulting, agency, or innovation environments).
  • Grasp of strategic frameworks: Design Thinking, Human-Centered Design, or similar.
  • Comfort influencing up. The Vault is highly visible to senior leaders, and you will often be shaping conversations with VPs, SVPs, or C-Suite level people.
  • Polished relationship builder, influencer, and energetic team driver.
  • Blend of Retail, Foodservice, and On-Premise business experience with focus on how our customers think and how do they make money.
  • Creativity, bias for action, and undying optimism-a resilient make misteaks (yes, we misspell it at The Vault!) spirit.
  • Curiosity, charisma, business sense, EQ, and a sense of humor.

The (Potentially) Hard Parts

  • We are all different but there is an underlying ethos of the team. We assume the best of each other. We listen to each other. We disagree but never at the cost of a teammate. You get to be you... we want that... but being collaborative matters.
  • This is a role where we are in the office five days a week. Do you ever get to work from home? Sometimes but it is infrequent. Truth is four of us sit at a long table and work like a tech start-up. This is less common in many workplaces, but we found information flowed better. There are plenty of spaces to get away in our building, but the nature of our work benefits from inclusivity, intimacy, camaraderie, and speed.
  • We are not at the headquarters. We go to the headquarters daily; it is a quick seven-minute drive. If you crave 10 second elevator conversations, working in a cubicle, or covered parking, you will have to manage your expectations.
  • We have moments of intensity. On average we do 70+ sessions per year. Sessions range from four to six hours in length. At the end of a session day, you will feel like you took an exam in that one class where you could never study enough. The trade is you will help teams at big inflection points and gain a broad and futuristic knowledge of the business.

The Reward of Working at The Vault

You will get incredible superpowers. Facilitating 70+ collaboration sessions is the equivalent of a comedian doing improv every week. You will gain a next level skill of influencing, thinking on your feet, and creating psychological safety.

Our system is so good, we have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in growth for partners, C-Suites have invited us to solve non-Coca-Cola problems, and we have been globally recognized by institutions leveraging our innovation tools. After this role, you will have learned from a battle-tested system and will see business and people differently.

Few roles in The Company give you the depth and breadth of exposure to The Coca-Cola Company's business. From meeting top leaders to learning key strategic pathways, you will be around some of the most important decision makers and discussions in the industry.

This role is an excellent experience to develop yourself, build a network, and push your ability to selflessly create value for people.
