As a Sr. Software Engineer on the D-ETI Team, you'll deliver complex code solutions. You'll contribute to overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, application performance, and provide end-to-end support.

About The Team

HEB’s Digital Emerging Technology and Innovation Team is our in-house innovation lab where we rapidly transform ideas into working prototypes. We operate as an idea incubator, building and testing new concepts with real users, sometimes going from concept to functional prototype in just days. We also evaluate vendor solutions and provide technical recommendations to business.

What is your background?

• A Computer Science degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
• 5+ years of full-stack development experience with languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with rapid prototyping of advanced AI solutions while maintaining appropriate quality standards to solve complex business challenges effectively.
• Experience with researching and implementing advancements in AI technologies to drive innovation, enhance functionality, and maintain a competitive edge.
• Experience owning the development and enhancement of AI platforms by integrating knowledge bases, tools, and innovative features to address evolving business needs.
• Experience building and shipping customer facing products from scratch
• Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS or GCP or Azure
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What is the work?

• Build full-stack solutions including intuitive web frontends, mobile apps, clean APIs, and robust -backend systems.
• Work across various technologies and languages based on project needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather feedback.
• Prototype and validate ideas quickly, pivoting or adjusting based on real-world usage.
• Partner with teams across HEB Digital to integrate with existing systems and infrastructure.
• Grows technical skills and experience, starting to lead small initiatives independently.
• Able to navigate more complex work that may span multiple systems.
• Contributes to root cause analysis and gives input on how to remediate future issues.
