About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer with strong Software Engineering and DevOps expertise to drive automation, CI/CD, and platform engineering for a modern enterprise data platform built on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
In this role, you will establish scalable engineering practices, automate deployments, improve platform reliability, and enable governed self-service analytics. You will work closely with data platform and business intelligence teams to implement reusable deployment patterns, infrastructure automation, and software engineering best practices across the data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and data platform assets.
- Define Git workflows, branching strategies, release management, and environment promotion standards.
- Automate deployments across development, testing, and production environments with validation and quality gates.
- Develop reusable automation tools, scripts, APIs, and frameworks using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Microsoft Fabric deployment technologies.
- Build automation for workspace provisioning, platform setup, operational tasks, and deployment templates.
- Develop reusable integration patterns for enterprise APIs, event-driven architectures, batch processing, CDC, ERP, CRM, and legacy systems.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using modern provisioning tools.
- Automate identity, security, and secrets management using Azure-native services.
- Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities for platform operations.
- Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and release governance.
- Troubleshoot deployment, integration, security, and environment-related issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams in an Agile environment.
- Create reusable documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing practices to improve engineering maturity.
- Strong software engineering experience with production-grade development in Python, C#, PowerShell, or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Proven experience implementing deployment automation for Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI.
- Experience with Fabric Git Integration, Fabric REST APIs, Fabric Item APIs, semantic model deployment, or equivalent Fabric deployment tooling.
- Strong expertise with Git, including branching strategies and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs for enterprise integrations.
- Solid understanding of Azure-based identity, security, environment management, and deployment practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM Templates.
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Minimum 3 years of DevOps and CI/CD engineering experience.
