What You'll Do
As a Deloitte Tax Consultant II, Software Back End Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of custom applications and modules that address business requirements. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable backend services, learning Deloitte development standards, and collaborating effectively within agile delivery teams.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in requirements analysis and technical discussions.
- Collaborate with US colleagues and vendor teams to support software design and architecture.
- Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
- Test and deploy applications and systems with guidance from senior team members.
- Revise, update, refactor, and debug code.
- Develop, support, and maintain applications and technology solutions.
- Help ensure development efforts meet requirements for scope, functionality, quality, and timeliness.
- Build familiarity with development tools, testing tools, methodologies, and processes.
- Build familiarity with project management methodology and agile delivery processes.
- Work collaboratively with onshore and offshore team members.
- Demonstrate a working understanding of software development standards and version control practices.
- Help maintain the quality of code released into production and support low bug rates.
- Work on agile projects, participate in daily SCRUM calls, and provide task updates.
- Working with infra team for deployment activities and any other infra support.
- Analyze and respond to any Prod issues reported.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant discipline
- 1+ years of experience in software development, backend engineering, or application support with hands-on experience or academic/project experience in C#, SQL Server, OOPS concepts, and microservices architecture
- Proven exposure to .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web API, SQL, NoSQL, Entity Framework 6 or above, Azure, and agile ways of working
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Technology Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
- Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board)
- Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge on Angular, Mongo DB, NPM and Azure Devops Build/Release configuration.
- Self-starter with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Skill for writing reusable libraries.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn engineering best practices, design patterns, and database performance optimization.
