The project

Join one of CODETIQ's engineering teams building a renewable energy platform for one of Europe's leading energy companies.

The platform started as a SaaS product founded in Hamburg and was later acquired by a French energy corporation with over 100,000 employees, where it now serves as a strategic internal tool. It helps engineers and business stakeholders evaluate renewable energy projects before major investment decisions are made: assessing technical and financial feasibility, comparing potential sites, building preliminary economic models, optimizing project profitability, and understanding key technical constraints across onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, and hybrid projects.

Behind every feature are mathematical models, energy yield calculations, financial algorithms, and complex business logic. Success in this role comes from understanding the problem before designing the solution.

How we work

Six teams work on the platform across Hamburg, Barcelona, and Belgrade, in regular consultation with teams based in Paris and Madrid. CODETIQ runs two of the six teams, engineers and embedded Product colleagues alike, as part of a long-term partnership with the client that keeps growing.

You'll work in a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, QA, and Product colleagues, collaborating throughout the entire development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and designing solutions to implementation, code reviews, deployment, and production support.

Planning is collaborative, technical decisions are discussed openly, and engineers are expected to explain the reasoning behind their decisions and take ownership of what they build.

You'll collaborate directly with Product teams, client stakeholders, and renewable energy domain experts every day, giving you the opportunity to influence both the product and the technical direction behind it.

Throughout the year we meet with our colleagues in Barcelona and Hamburg for planning workshops, engineering sessions, AI hackathons, and team gatherings.

How we use AI

AI is part of the way we build software, across every layer of product development: from requirements and Jira tickets, through design and solution planning, to code, code reviews, testing, and production support.

We build our own agents, skills, and internal toolkits on top of Claude, and treat them as engineering assets, versioned and improved like any other part of the system. Each team nominates an AI delegate who follows the latest practices and makes sure they are applied in everyday work, supported by active AI initiatives at both company and project level.

Technical decisions always remain with engineers. What matters most is curiosity, critical thinking, and a willingness to continuously improve the way software is built.

What you'll work on

  • Build and maintain production software using TypeScript, React, Node.js / NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS
  • Design scalable, maintainable, and reliable solutions
  • Work directly with Product teams and client stakeholders to shape technical solutions
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, estimations, and code reviews
  • Improve existing systems through refactoring, optimization, and continuous technical improvements
  • Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to system reliability
  • Contribute to improving the team's engineering practices, including AI-assisted development

Who we're looking for

We're looking for engineers who enjoy understanding systems as much as building them. You'll likely be a great fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js / NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS
  • Experience participating in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews
  • Strong communication skills and confidence collaborating with international teams in English
  • A product mindset, analytical thinking, and a strong sense of ownership
  • Curiosity about modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development

Nice to have

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is considered a strong advantage due to the analytical nature of the product
  • Experience with SaaS or product-oriented applications
  • Experience with distributed systems or microservice architectures
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience in renewable energy or another data-intensive domain

Why join CODETIQ

You'll work on a long-term product with real technical depth, collaborate directly with Product teams, clients, and experienced domain experts, and be part of an engineering culture built around ownership, technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

You'll work alongside engineers who enjoy solving difficult problems, sharing what they learn, and helping each other grow.

  • AI integrated into everyday engineering workflows
  • Regular travel to Barcelona and Hamburg for workshops, planning sessions, AI hackathons, and team events
  • A long-term engagement built on a stable, multi-year client relationship
  • Hybrid work model with flexible working hours
  • Competitive compensation based on your experience and expertise
