About the Job
Britannica Home Fashions is looking for a Software Engineer - Full Stack & Automation to help design, build, and modernize the software systems that power our business.
In this role, you’ll develop modern web applications, APIs, automation solutions, and data pipelines that support teams across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Product Development, and E-commerce. You’ll work on projects ranging from internal ERP applications and business process automation to system integrations and reporting tools.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving real-world business problems, building scalable software, and continuously learning new technologies. As our technology platform evolves, you’ll have opportunities to explore modern AI capabilities, intelligent automation, and next-generation enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Full Stack Development
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and C#/.NET
- Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces from Figma designs and business requirements
- Develop secure REST APIs and backend services supporting enterprise applications
- Implement authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and application security best practices
Automation, Data & Integrations
- Develop Python applications for automation, ETL workflows, and business process improvements
- Build and maintain data pipelines that integrate information from APIs, SQL databases, cloud services, Excel, CSV, and other business systems
- Create and maintain browser automation and web scraping solutions
- Design integrations between internal applications and third-party platforms
- Develop scheduled jobs, background services, and workflow automation to improve operational efficiency
Database & Architecture
- Design and maintain relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server
- Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures, and optimize application performance
- Participate in application architecture, database design, and technical planning
- Ensure software is scalable, secure, maintainable, and well documented
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 3+ years of professional full stack software development experience
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL
- Comfort picking up scripting or automation work (e.g., Python) as part of day-to-day development
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously or within a small, collaborative team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for learning new technologies and continuously improving your technical skills
Key Skills
Required: React, Next.js, TypeScript, C# / .NET, REST API development, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL, Python, Docker, Git and modern development workflows
Preferred (Nice to Have): Azure or AWS, Browser automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Puppeteer), Microsoft Graph API, ERP software development, CI/CD pipelines, FileMaker, QlikSense, AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.), Experience with LLM integration in applications, Familiarity with AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, or semantic search, Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) development for connecting AI applications with enterprise systems

Additional Requirements
- On-site work: this position requires on-site presence five days a week in our New York City office. Remote work options are not available.
- Minimum experience: candidates must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience building full-stack applications.
