Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Our client is a fast-growing company (75+ team members and counting) that builds training content, digital publications, and software products for a specialized industrial sector. They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build modern, scalable applications, largely greenfield, across internal and client-facing products.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain back-end services and APIs on the Microsoft .NET stack (C#, ASP.NET Core), with a focus on reliability, security, and performance
• Design SQL Server database schemas and write efficient queries and data access code
• Contribute to front-end components as needed using React, Vite, or Next.js
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and technical design discussions
• Integrate applications with identity providers (Entra ID or Auth0) and enterprise systems such as LMS, EAM, and HCM platforms
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; build proofs-of-concept to evaluate new tools
• Work with Docker, Azure infrastructure-as-code (Bicep), and message brokers (Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Use AI development tools responsibly to speed up scaffolding, refactoring, and testing

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
• 7+ years professional software engineering experience — not open to recent graduates
• C# and modern .NET (primary language/stack)
• 5+ years .NET and 5+ years Azure (both listed as required on the application itself)
• Back-end services/API experience, including SQL Server data access and relational database work
• Working knowledge of modern front-end (React/Vite/Next.js or similar) — enough to contribute, not expert-level
• Experience using AI tools thoughtfully in the dev lifecycle
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
