Job Description

The Role

We're hiring Tech Leads to run engineering teams of 4 to 8 engineers. You are the technical owner of your team's outcomes. Most of your time is spent writing and reviewing code, but you are also accountable for technical direction, delivery, and the engineering health of the people on your team.

This is hands-on. If you're looking for a manager seat with no coding expected, this is not it.

What you'll do

·Set technical direction for your team's domain and defend the decisions you make.

·Write production code regularly, including in the most complex parts of the codebase.

·Review code from every engineer on the team and use review as a teaching channel.

·Plan delivery alongside your PO: break work down, manage risk, push back on scope when needed.

·Own incidents in your domain end to end and coordinate across teams when required.

·Mentor and grow your engineers, including giving direct performance feedback when needed.

·Represent your team's technical posture to partners, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

·Strong depth in at least one of our core stacks (TypeScript, Go) and the ability to ramp on the others.

·Track record of owning a service or product area in production over multiple quarters.

·Demonstrated delivery in a startup or scale-up environment under shifting requirements.

·Comfort with the harder parts of the role: telling someone their work is not good enough, saying no to senior stakeholders, owning the call when it's genuinely ambiguous.

·Effective use of AI coding tools as a force multiplier for the team, not only for yourself.

Nice to have

·Fintech, banking, or other regulated-industry background.

·Exposure to partner-driven delivery, especially integrations with banks, asset managers, or platform vendors.

How we work and what we value

We are a startup environment. We move quickly, decisions are made close to the work, and engineers are expected to take real ownership rather than wait for instructions. Specifically, we look for:

·Ability to think. Can you reason through a problem you have not seen before, identify the right question, and propose an answer you can defend?

·Ability to read code you did not write. A large part of the job is operating in unfamiliar codebases (ours, partners', SDK consumers') and reviewing code generated by AI tools. Strong reading skills matter as much as strong writing skills.

·Ability to code. You can implement what you propose, cleanly and to a production standard.

·Engineering rigor. You debug systematically, unblock yourself through proper investigation rather than guessing, and use the tools available to you (including AI) effectively.
