AI Scientist / Principal AI Engineer – Drug Discovery & Life Sciences

We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on AI expert to join an AI-driven Bio/Pharma research initiative focused on next-generation drug discovery and early-stage drug development. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep AI/ML expertise with strong scientific understanding and enjoys building production-ready AI solutions in highly innovative R&D environments. You will work independently, own end-to-end delivery, and directly contribute to AI-powered research across small molecules, biologics, target identification, and scientific discovery workflows.

🔹 Important note

This role can be performed in either a full-time or part-time setup, depending on the candidate’s availability and agreement with the team. The key requirement is a daily 2–3 hour overlap with the team, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and technical discussions. Outside of this overlap, the work is fully autonomous and self-directed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI solutions for Life Sciences and Pharma;
• Contribute to AI-driven drug discovery and early drug development;
• Build and deploy production-ready AI systems, agents, and scientific workflows;
• Apply Graph ML, knowledge graphs, and network biology approaches to biomedical problems;
• Develop AI solutions for molecular modelling, biologics, and small molecule discovery;
• Collaborate closely with scientific and research teams;
• Translate research concepts into scalable, production-oriented AI solutions;
• Take full ownership of delivery with minimal supervision.

We offer a choice of employment form: B2B or Employment Contract

• UoP: 17 000 – 20 000 PLN gross/month
• B2B: 140– 170 PLN net/hour + VAT

You Might Be The Perfect Match If You Are/have

• Strong experience building and shipping end-to-end AI/ML solutions in real-world environments;
• Hands-on background in agentic AI systems and autonomous or semi-autonomous workflows;
• Deep understanding of Graph Machine Learning (GNNs, knowledge graphs, network-based models);
• Experience applying AI in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Drug Discovery;
• Proven ability to build and deploy production-grade AI tools, agents, dashboards, or internal platforms;
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with modern ML/AI ecosystems;
• Comfortable working in scientific, research-driven, or R&D-heavy environments.

Moreover, We Appreciate Skills In These Areas

• Experience with molecular foundation models or protein language models;
• Experience with LLM-based scientific agents;
• Scientific publications in AI, computational biology, bioinformatics, or drug discovery;
• Experience working with biologics or molecular simulations;
• Familiarity with cloud/MLOps environments.
