Product Manager, AI OCR & IDP Practice
Indexed description
Role Summary
The Product Manager, AI OCR & IDP owns the complete lifecycle of Helpware’s short-cycle document-processing engagements – from bidding and SOW closure through OCR/IDP configuration, development oversight, and final delivery of work product. This is a player-coach role: a single accountable owner who moves each opportunity from open job posting to delivered, billable output within tight 90-day windows, while protecting margin and quality at every step. Success is measured by speed, win rate, accuracy, and repeatable throughput across a high volume of concurrent micro-projects.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Management & Commercial Ownership
- Own the end-to-end bid lifecycle for the client’s short-term job opportunities: assess fit, scope effort, estimate timeline and cost, and build competitive pricing that protects margin given the rapid cadence.
- Prepare and submit proposals; manage the bid pipeline, win rate, and revenue forecast for the line of business.
SOW & Contract Execution
- Draft, negotiate, and close Statements of Work within the client’s master agreement framework.
- Define deliverables, acceptance criteria, milestones, and SLAs – with tight scope boundaries and change-control terms suited to fixed-cycle work.
- Coordinate with finance and legal on billing milestones, revenue recognition, and terms.
OCR/IDP Configuration & Development Oversight
- Translate client requirements into technical configuration specs: document classification, extraction templates, validation rules, exception handling, and output formats.
- Direct, prioritize, and manage developer and engineering resources across concurrent micro-projects; serve as the single point of technical accountability.
- Own pipeline quality – accuracy thresholds, QA, and validation before delivery.
Delivery & Program Execution
- Run each engagement from kickoff to closeout: timeline, resourcing, risk, and client communication.
- Ensure work product is delivered on time, on spec, and at contracted accuracy and SLA levels.
- Conduct handoff, closeout, and lessons-learned capture for every engagement.
Management of Client and Internal Audit Adherence
Ensure adherence to both client and internal audit requirements, including but not limited to:
- Monthly AI Attestation
- Vulnerability/Security Assessment remediations
- Collaboration on annual pen testing and applicable remediations
- Reports audit findings to both clients and internal management, including executive summaries and supporting data
Continuous Improvement & Account Growth
- Build reusable playbooks, templates, and configuration libraries to compress bid-to-delivery cycle time across engagements.
- Identify repeat and expansion opportunities with the client; feed insights back into pricing and the OCR product roadmap.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5–8+ years in BPO/professional-services delivery, solutions consulting, or program management – ideally including document processing, IDP, OCR, or RPA/automation.
- Demonstrated ownership of commercial deals: scoping, estimating, pricing, and SOW negotiation.
- Technical fluency sufficient to configure and QA an OCR/IDP platform and direct developers – must speak the language (APIs, JSON, extraction models, accuracy metrics) without needing to code.
- Strong project-management discipline; proven ability to run many small, concurrent projects at high velocity.
- Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to self-manage with appropriate communications and escalations points; while ensuring seamless teammate collaboration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with IDP/OCR platforms (e.g., ABBYY, Hyperscience, Rossum, Google Document AI, AWS Textract, Azure Form Recognizer).
- PMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma certification, or PDMA.
- Prior experience managing technical products within a services based industry.
