The role

This team is building AI systems that help customers better understand, evaluate, and improve their AI applications. The role sits at the intersection of product engineering, infrastructure, and applied AI, with the opportunity to shape how AI is integrated across the platform.

This is an extremely high-agency role. You'll touch every part of the stack (simulations, UI, API, CLI) and help determine where AI belongs and, just as importantly, where it doesn't. Rather than building a simple chatbot or assistant, you'll develop AI systems with optimized tool calling, memory, retrieval, and data access that deliver meaningful value to customers.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Building agentic AI experiences across the platform. You'll help determine which workflows belong in the UI, which should be powered by LLMs, and where AI can create the most value for customers.
  • Developing production-grade AI systems by optimizing retrieval, tool calling, memory, and context management to deliver fast, reliable, and actionable insights.
  • Staying at the forefront of AI advancements by evaluating new models, understanding emerging architectures, and helping shape technical direction as the ecosystem evolves.
  • Driving AI adoption internally by improving engineering workflows, tooling, and best practices while serving as a technical resource for the broader team.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of modern AI systems, including LLMs, prompt engineering, evaluation, tool calling, retrieval, and memory.
  • Strong curiosity and product intuition, with the ability to identify where AI meaningfully improves user experiences.
  • High agency and ownership, with the ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute with minimal direction.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered features into production, with an understanding of what it takes to build reliable, customer-facing AI systems.
  • Interest in staying current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and applying new capabilities thoughtfully.
  • Comfortable working across the full stack when needed. This is a product engineering role focused on shipping, not a research position.

Tech stack:

The team primarily works in Python to build AI systems on top of modern LLM APIs and cloud infrastructure. Depending on the project, you'll also contribute across the TypeScript frontend. The engineering culture emphasizes rapid iteration, strong developer tooling, and shipping quickly.
