Role Summary

Transamerica is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead AI Engineer to design, build, and implement AI agents and AI-driven architectures within CI/CD workflows on AWS. This role requires a strong technical leader who can contribute from Day 1, bringing practical experience in developing and deploying LLM-based and GenAI-powered solutions.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python-based AI development, RAG pipeline engineering, agentic workflows, and AWS cloud services, along with a solid understanding of application security, vulnerabilities, and automation practices.


Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pisacataway,NJ is $115-125 k/year & benefits (see below).


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and AI-powered architectures within enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build and implement LLM/GenAI-driven solutions using platforms such as OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, or similar technologies.
  • Develop and optimize RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines leveraging AWS SageMaker, Lambda, and related cloud-native services.
  • Create and integrate MCP servers, tools, and frameworks to support AI workflows and agent-based solutions.
  • Lead the development of autonomous AI agents and agentic workflows for automation and intelligent decision-making.
  • Work on code generation, code remediation, and code-fixing use cases powered by LLMs.
  • Design and maintain integrations with vector databases to support scalable semantic search and AI applications.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, security, and engineering teams to embed AI capabilities into CI/CD ecosystems.
  • Ensure AI solutions align with application security standards, vulnerability management practices, and enterprise architecture requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and hands-on development support across the AI engineering lifecycle.



Required Skills

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience with LLMs / GenAI technologies such as OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, or similar platforms.

• Strong expertise in Python and AI application development.

• Practical experience with:

o RAG Pipeline Engineering (SageMaker + Lambda)

o MCP Server Development & Tool Integrations

o Building agentic workflows or autonomous AI agents

o Code generation / code fixing using LLMs

o Working with vector databases

• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including:

 Lambda

 ECS/EKS

 S3

 API Gateway

• Good understanding of application security, secure development practices, and common software vulnerabilities. Preferred Skills

• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Harness, etc.

• Familiarity with security tools like Snyk, SonarQube, and similar platforms.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Prior experience in security automation, vulnerability remediation systems, or related domains.

• A hands-on technical leader who can work both strategically and tactically.

• Capable of rapidly prototyping and deploying AI solutions in enterprise environments.

• Experienced in building scalable, secure, and production-ready AI systems on AWS.

• Strong collaborator with the ability to work across AI, DevOps, cloud, and security teams.

• Ready to make an immediate impact and contribute from the first day.
