Our services comprise of nursing, palliative care, home help and support services, hospital in the home, allied health services, and the provision of equipment. We employ more than 4,400 people, including nurses, doctors, allied health, care experts, and a dedicated research and innovation division.


The Innovation Specialist in the Research and Innovation Team is responsible for supporting and coordinating innovation initiatives and providing specialist expertise and experience in innovation project management, initiative delivery, clinician adoption and measurement of return on investment. They will support ensuring that Silverchain current and future services are contemporary and deliver meaningful outcomes and impacts that are grounded in end user needs.

What we're looking for

To thrive in this role, you'll need to have:


  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., digital health, health informatics, nursing, allied health).
  • Comfort and experience in the role of a change agent driving organisational transformation in an environment with high ambiguity. Proven experience in supporting technological innovation, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of and experience developing and implementing new models of care, including virtual care.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver technology-focused projects, from concept to implementation, within a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in desktop research to develop a strong evidence base, case studies and best practices.


The role

As the Innovation Specialist:


  • Coordinate and support innovation initiatives emphasising technology innovation that solves for priority client problems and opportunities with a focus on projects involving artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and emerging technologies in home care.
  • Support project delivery excellence across the innovation team.
  • Track and support communication and reporting on innovation initiatives to communicate progress and demonstrate value and impact.
  • Write and present high quality innovation deliverables (such as innovation opportunity reports, reverse briefs, project plans, background and problem definition slides, concept brief slides, solution option slides, pilot approach slides) that resonate with clinical service delivery stakeholders.
  • Undertake desktop research to identify, summarise and document key government policy and strategy implications for Research and Innovation, market trends, emerging technology and leading practice case studies, to present innovation opportunity spaces (share evidence with stakeholders that supports the case for change to build urgency).
  • Support value driver analysis, market opportunity and business rationale definition, financial projections and business case development.
  • Develop expert recommendations, insights and briefings on innovation learnings to internal stakeholders to stretch stakeholder thinking with respect to the art of the possible and to support product and service development.
