Data Scientist — Machine Learning for Marketing 📍 Barcelona · Full-time

Most marketing decisions are still made on instinct. We help the world's most sophisticated advertisers replace that instinct with evidence.

Indaru is an independent media and data advisory firm. We combine senior consulting judgement with advanced analytics to answer the questions that matter most to large advertisers: what is our marketing actually delivering, what should we change, and what happens if we do? Our work sits behind multi-million-euro investment decisions at some of the largest brands in the world.

We're looking for a Data Scientist who is genuinely excited about applying machine learning to real commercial problems — and who wants their models to shape decisions, not sit in a notebook.

What you'll work on You'll join a team of data scientists building the models and measurement that guide our clients' marketing investment. Day to day, that means:

  • Developing machine-learning models applied to marketing — Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM), forecasting, segmentation and attribution
  • Contributing to our proprietary products: AITA, our MMM platform, and EcoMetrics, our ISO-aligned solution for measuring the carbon footprint of digital advertising
  • Turning model output into clear, defensible recommendations clients can act on
  • Building and optimising the data pipelines (ELT) that bring together Google Ads, Meta, Google Analytics, YouTube and Amazon data
  • Designing and maintaining dashboards in Looker Studio, Shiny, Power BI and similar tools
  • Presenting your findings directly to clients — your analysis, in your words

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Strong Python for data science (pandas, scikit-learn and the wider ecosystem) and comfort working with large datasets (GB–TB scale)
  • Solid SQL — able to write and reason about complex queries
  • A rigorous, detail-oriented and self-directed way of working
  • A genuine collaborator who enjoys working closely with colleagues and clients
  • Strong written and spoken English (C1)
  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field

Nice to have

  • Experience with deep-learning or Bayesian frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyMC, PySpark)
  • Familiarity with a cloud platform (Google Cloud, AWS or Azure)
  • Exposure to marketing, media or advertising data
  • Additional languages — we work across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific

Don't tick every box? If you're strong on the essentials and keen to grow into the rest, we'd still like to hear from you.

What we offer

  • A front-row seat on high-stakes measurement work for global brands — exposure most data scientists wait years for
  • Proprietary products at the frontier of MMM and sustainability measurement
  • Real ownership of your work and direct client contact early on
  • A serious commitment to developing your potential — we treat growth as part of the job, not a perk
  • A collaborative, open team that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously
  • Full-time position based in Barcelona, with a competitive salary
