The SAP Business AI Lead Developer / Architect is a senior technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and scaling AI-driven solutions across SAP S/4HANA environments for enterprise clients.

This role combines deep SAP expertise with advanced AI/ML capabilities, leveraging SAP Business AI, SAP Joule, and generative AI technologies alongside leading non-SAP AI platforms. The individual will drive innovation, establish scalable architectures, and lead development teams to deliver high-impact AI-enabled business transformations.

Duties And Responsibilities

AI & Solution Architecture Leadership

• Architect end-to-end solutions integrating SAP and external data/AI platforms
• Lead the design and implementation of AI-driven solutions within SAP S/4HANA landscapes
• Architect scalable and secure solutions leveraging SAP Business AI, SAP Joule, and embedded AI capabilities
• Define integration patterns between SAP and external AI platforms
• Establish reusable frameworks, accelerators, and development standards for AI at scale
• Build reusable accelerators, assets, and industry-specific AI packages

Development & Delivery

• Drive hands-on development of AI/ML and generative AI solutions integrated with SAP BTP and S/4HANA
• Lead technical teams in building, testing, and deploying AI-enabled applications
• Ensure high-quality delivery, performance, and scalability across client implementations
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to embed AI into core business processes

Client & Innovation Impact

• Partner with clients to identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases across finance, supply chain, procurement, and operations
• Translate business requirements into scalable AI-enabled SAP solutions
• Drive innovation through adoption of emerging SAP and non-SAP AI technologies
• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders on AI strategy and execution

Integration & Ecosystem

• Integrate SAP AI capabilities with non-SAP platforms such as Azure AI, OpenAI, AWS AI/ML, and Google AI
• Leverage SAP BTP services for data, AI, and application development
• Work across hybrid data environments combining SAP and non-SAP systems

Operational & Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide developers and architects on AI and SAP best practices
• Support scaling of development capabilities across multiple client engagements
• Contribute to delivery excellence, utilization, and capability growth

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 7+ years of SAP experience, including S/4HANA implementations and extensions
• Strong expertise in SAP Business AI, SAP Joule, and embedded AI capabilities
• SAP certifications in S/4HANA, BTP, or AI-related areas (SAP Certified Associate – SAP Generative AI Developer)
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML or generative AI solutions in enterprise environments
• Knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration frameworks
• Familiarity with non-SAP AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS, Google AI, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, ABAP, or similar languages
• Experience with APIs, integrations, and enterprise architecture
• Experience managing employees with an ability to inspire, motivate, and develop others
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to travel as needed

Preferred

• Experience with SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and data engineering pipelines
• SAP certifications in S/4HANA, BTP, or AI-related areas
• Experience in consulting or client-facing roles
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices

The annual base compensation range for this role will be $160,37- 7$229,337 The exact compensation at which this job is filled will be determined by a number of factors including but not limited to organizational needs and the qualified candidate’s skill set, certifications, and experience.
