Software Engineer – AI focused (On-site, Malaysia)

We’re hiring Software Engineers based in Malaysia who are genuinely fed up with slow, painful ways of working. When Claude Code and AI coding tools appeared, you didn’t just try them. You dived in, built stuff, and quickly learned both how powerful they are and where they can trip you up.

If you’re tired of seeing the same old problems every day, this might be the role for you.

The kind of things that should irritate you

• Hours wasted on repetitive copy-paste tasks
• Manual updates that everyone knows could be automated
• Constant back-and-forth chasing for simple information
• Over-complicated steps that could be done in one click
• Processes that only survive because of WhatsApp messages, memory, and “just wing it”

What this role actually is

Your job is to find broken, inefficient workflows in the real world, redesign them, and use AI (especially Claude) to make them dramatically faster, cleaner, and higher quality, all while keeping things practical and reliable for the team.

This is a hands-on builder role. You will prototype, test, refine, and ship real AI-powered automations and improvements. It is not about talking about innovation in meetings.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

• Spot real bottlenecks and repetitive work by talking to the people actually doing the job (not just reading documents)
• Design smarter ways of working that can genuinely be 10x faster without sacrificing quality
• Rapidly build and test AI solutions using Claude Code, agents, prompts, and automation tools
• Take raw code generated by Claude, review it properly, understand it deeply, improve it where needed, and only then push to production (no one-click “vibe commits” to GitHub)
• Make sure every automation is solid, maintainable, and actually helps people do better work with less friction
• Continuously learn the real benefits and pitfalls of AI coding tools so we avoid the common traps

You’ll be a strong fit if you

• Have a solid software engineering foundation and take pride in writing and reviewing clean, reliable code
• Already have hands-on experience with Claude Code (or very similar AI coding tools) and have built real projects with them
• Deeply understand both the superpowers and the dangers of working with AI-generated code
• Naturally hate inefficiency and always ask “Why are we still doing it this way?”
• Can empathise with how people actually work and what they need to succeed
• Enjoy experimenting, testing, and iterating fast
• Have built small internal tools, scripts, or no-code automations before
• See a messy process and immediately think “this can be automated lah” — then actually make it happen
• Are not a “vibe coder” who just copies AI output without reviewing or understanding it
• Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and get energised by rapid change (this is not a slow, structured corporate role)
