Help turn a group data warehouse into an AI platform, and grow with it

Most data engineering jobs are maintenance with a nicer title. This one isn't. Vimian already runs a group-wide data platform across 17 countries and 1,580 sources — and it's now being rebuilt into the insight and AI platform the whole group works from. You'll join at the moment that matters: small enough team that you own real surface area, ambitious enough plan that what you build gets used everywhere.

You'll bring new companies onto the platform as Vimian acquires them, design the contracts and models that let four business segments trust the same data, and help bring “talk to your data” to life. And because we're keeping specialist support in place through the transition, you'll be building the future — not just firefighting the present.

What you'll do

· Onboard every new acquisition onto the platform — the ingestion layer already speaks Business Central, Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, Visma, Xero and more, and you'll keep extending it.

· Design and implement the data contracts and lineage that let segments build on shared data without breaking each other.

· Turn raw data into insight — build the models and Power BI outputs that answer real business questions for Group Management, Finance and operations.

· Make definitions mean one thing — work with stakeholders so a KPI means the same across the group.

· Bring AI into the platform — use agentic tooling to move faster, and help stand up governed “talk to your data” access.

· Keep the core dependable — the platform delivers group financials during reporting close; you'll help make in-house ownership rock-solid, with retained specialist support alongside you through the transition.

What you'll bring

· Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science or similar.

· 5+ years in data engineering, BI development or software engineering.

· Python (Spark/PySpark) and strong SQL; comfortable with SQL/Parquet and lakehouse patterns.

· Hands-on with the Azure data stack (Data Factory, Synapse; keen on Fabric) and Power BI / Power Platform.

· Confident with APIs (REST, GraphQL, web services) — integration, development, troubleshooting.

· Experience designing data warehouses and ELT/ETL pipelines.

· Working knowledge of ERP and financial accounting data — you understand what you're moving, not just how.

· Structured and dependable, with the integrity to flag when a shortcut threatens the platform.

· Genuinely curious about AI tooling — you want to work in an agentic-native team, not around one.
