Senior AI Engineer - Kissimmee, FL

Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise, is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, build, and support AI-enabled applications, automations, and platform capabilities across enterprise systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong production application experience and practical experience applying generative AI in business environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions and AI-enabled applications.
• Build and integrate REST APIs, backend services, workflow automations, and enterprise system integrations.
• Leverage large language model APIs, prompt design, structured outputs, and enterprise data sources to deliver practical AI solutions.
• Prototype new AI capabilities and harden successful solutions for production use.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to support search, Q&A, automation, and productivity-focused use cases.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Experience:

• Strong software engineering experience building and supporting production applications.
• Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Dart, or similar modern programming languages.
• Experience with REST APIs, enterprise integrations, cloud platforms, and modern application architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML or generative AI application development.
• Experience with LLM APIs, prompt design, structured output patterns, and data processing.
• Strong understanding of software design, testing, debugging, version control, and deployment practices.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.
• Nice to have: experience with enterprise AI applications, AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Flutter, Angular, secure development, or large enterprise environments.
