POSITION OVERVIEW:

Rajant Health is seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer – Financial Products & Services to design, develop, and deploy intelligent software solutions supporting the Cowbell® platform and next-generation healthcare financial products. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on building secure, scalable AI-powered applications using machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), advanced analytics, and cloud technologies to improve financial decision-making, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and business intelligence.

You'll collaborate with software engineers, AI specialists, product managers, clinicians, and business stakeholders to build production AI applications that transform complex healthcare and financial data into actionable insights and intelligent automation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

AI Application Development

• Design, develop, and deploy production AI applications supporting healthcare financial products and services.
• Build intelligent applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and machine learning technologies.
• Develop predictive models, intelligent workflows, recommendation engines, and decision-support systems.
• Integrate commercial AI platforms and foundation models into customer-facing applications.

Financial Products & Services

• Develop AI-powered capabilities supporting financial products, payment workflows, customer engagement, forecasting, and operational analytics.
• Design intelligent automation that improves financial processes and customer experiences.
• Develop statistical models supporting business intelligence, forecasting, optimization, and risk analysis.
• Translate financial and operational data into actionable insights through AI-powered analytics.

Software Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed applications.
• Build secure, reliable, and well-tested production software.
• Participate in software architecture, technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Develop reusable software components supporting AI-enabled products.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Build and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines.
• Process structured and unstructured healthcare and financial datasets.
• Develop feature engineering pipelines supporting AI model training and inference.
• Ensure data quality, governance, scalability, and performance.

AI Platform Integration

• Integrate OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or similar AI platforms.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies and AI orchestration workflows.
• Evaluate AI model quality, latency, cost, security, and performance.
• Monitor production AI systems and continuously improve model accuracy and reliability.

Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, Clinical, and Business teams.
• Translate business requirements into scalable AI-powered software solutions.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering practices and AI governance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying production software applications.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
• Experience developing AI-powered software or machine learning applications.

Programming

• Strong proficiency in Python with experience building and operating production applications.
• Experience with Go is highly preferred.
• Additional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript or other programming languages is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to learn and work effectively across multiple languages as needed.

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

• Experience developing AI or machine learning applications using Python.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and prompt engineering.
• Experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or similar AI platforms.
• Experience evaluating AI model performance, quality, and reliability.
• Experience building production AI applications using commercial foundation models and AI APIs.

Software Engineering

• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed services.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Strong software design, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing automated tests and delivering production-ready software.

Data Engineering

• Experience working with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing data models and developing scalable data pipelines.
• Experience processing large structured and unstructured datasets.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience developing applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience developing AI-powered financial products, financial services applications, or healthcare technology solutions.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with vector databases, semantic search, AI agents, or autonomous workflows.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, workflow orchestration platforms, or automated data pipelines.
• Experience with statistical modeling, forecasting, optimization algorithms, or quantitative analytics.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, AI governance, explainability, model evaluation, and AI observability.
