Tradition is currently seeking to appoint an AI Application Engineer to be based in our London office.
Main responsibilities within the AI Application Engineer position include:
- Continue developing and improving the platform, including adding new agents and agentic workflows
- Support deployment and adaptation of the platform across multiple regions, accounting for infrastructure and compliance differences
- Build applications and workflows on top of on-prem LLMs served via vLLM
- Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads (user level operations, deployments, scaling, logs)
- Administer and configure OpenWebUI, including user management, model access, and integrations
- Set up and maintain deployment pipelines and CI/CD for AI applications
- Monitor application health, model performance, and usage/cost as the platform scales
- Gather feedback from stakeholders across teams and sectors to prioritize features and improvements
- Create and maintain documentation and training materials to support adoption
Key skills and experience required in this role:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 1 to 2 years of experience – post-graduation - in an applied AI, ML engineering, or software engineering role
- Strong Python skills
- Familiarity with on-prem LLMs and consuming models served via vLLM (no deployment/ops experience required)
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes from a user/operator perspective
- Admin-level experience with OpenWebUI or similar LLM front-end platforms
- Experience designing or building agentic workflows (tool use, multi-step automation, orchestration frameworks)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
- Familiarity with application/system monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana or similar)
- Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and sectors with differing needs and priorities
- Autonomy to prioritize your own work and drive progress toward broader team goals
