AI Engineer – Human Behaviour – Early stage startup - London, Hybrid (3 days per week) - £80,000 to £150,000 + Equity

Businesses have always relied on historical data to understand what customers have done. This startup is changing that. By simulating thousands of autonomous AI agents that model human behaviour, organisations can predict how customers are likely to respond before launching a product, changing pricing or making strategic decisions.

Story so far:

This is a rare opportunity to join a very early stage, well funded AI startup at the earliest stage of its journey, working alongside second time founders with previous successful exits and leadership experience at some of the world's leading technology companies.

Having recently secured multi million pound pre seed funding, the business has already validated its technology with paying enterprise customers and is now building the first production version of a platform that aims to predict human behaviour using AI driven simulations.

Rather than relying on historical analytics, the platform creates thousands of autonomous AI agents that simulate customer behaviour, allowing organisations to test pricing, commercial strategies and decision making before deploying them in the real world.

Over the next few months you'll play a key role in taking successful pilots into a scalable product while working directly with customers and helping shape the technical direction of the business.

The team:

Founder 1

An ex Meta AI engineer with over a decade of experience building production AI systems. A proven technical founder who has already built one successful AI startup and is now starting again

Founder 2

A second time founder whose previous company was acquired by a massive wearable company. Former Venture Partner with deep experience across startups, fundraising and scaling technology businesses.

The role

You'll work closely with AI researchers and software engineers to build an AI first product from the ground up.

This is a hands on engineering role where you'll be developing and deploying production grade multi agent systems at scale, helping improve model quality and reliability while ensuring the platform can support tens of thousands of autonomous agents.

You'll be involved in:

• Building and deploying production multi agent AI systems with 25k Agnets
• Improving LLM performance through evaluation and experimentation
• Reducing hallucinations and improving model reliability
• Working with open source foundation models, inference optimisation and quantisation
• Collaborating with researchers to translate cutting edge ideas into production software
• Building AI capabilities that become core to the product
• Working directly with enterprise customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software or AI engineering experience
• Experience building and deploying AI applications into production
• Strong Python skills
• Experience working with LLMs and modern AI frameworks
• Understanding of inference, model optimisation and evaluation frameworks
• Experience with multi agent systems – CrewAI, LangGraph, etc

Nice to have

• Experience training or fine tuning open source models
• Experience building evaluation pipelines for LLM applications
• Background in machine learning, NLP or applied AI research
• Experience in startups from Seed to Series A
