In this role, you will design, implement, optimize, and validate advanced audio processing solutions on NXP’s AI-enabled automotive and robotics platforms. The ideal candidate combines expertise in AI/ML model development, software implementation, and performance optimization with a passion for transforming cutting-edge research into efficient embedded solutions that deliver exceptional audio experiences in our future systems.
Technical Skills
The candidate should possess the following technical competencies:
- Strong understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Neural Network architectures, with the ability to evaluate, adapt, and optimize models for embedded audio systems.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent toolchains.
- Solid background in audio signal processing, including audio filtering, noise reduction, echo cancellation, speech enhancement, beamforming, and acoustic analysis.
- Knowledge of embedded AI deployment, including model optimization, quantization, memory footprint reduction, and performance tuning on resource-constrained hardware.
- Proficiency in software development using C/C++ and Python, with experience in algorithm implementation and validation.
- Experience in developing and integrating AI-based audio processing solutions.
- Understanding of digital signal processor (DSP) and Neural Processing Unit (NPU) fundamentals and their interaction with AI/ML-based approaches.
- Familiarity with performance measurement and optimization, including latency, throughput, memory usage, and power consumption considerations.
- Ability to analyze system-level requirements and translate them into efficient software implementations for automotive and robotics embedded platforms.
- Knowledge of industrial development processes and standards, like IATF16949 and ISO26262, is considered a plus.
- MSc or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in development automotive or robotics audio systems, audio processing pipelines, or edge AI applications.
- Familiarity with heterogeneous computing architectures, NPUs, DSPs, and dedicated AI accelerators.
