Computer Vision Engineer
As an IoT Solutions Engineer, you will be the bridge between the factory floor and the digital frontier. You will survey our manufacturing landscape, identify bottlenecks, and develop custom AI, Machine Learning, and Vision solutions that directly impact the efficiency, quality, and safety of our global production. We are looking for a "Practical Innovator"—someone with a creator’s heart and an engineer’s discipline.
What You’ll Do
• Innovate & Build: Develop and test "Proof of Technology" concepts, including vision inspection systems and ML models for predictive maintenance.
• Bridge the Gap: Engage directly with North American plant-floor customers to translate complex manufacturing problems into elegant digital solutions.
• Data Extraction: Go beyond the surface. Identify, extract, and interpret machine parameters (vibration, audio, current signatures) to monitor component health and product quality.
• Strategize: Contribute to the IoT roadmap, ensuring our digital evolution is scalable, reliable, and gives Honda a competitive edge.
• Monitor the Horizon: Stay at the forefront of digital tech developments, identifying new tools and trends before they become industry standards.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Controls, or a related field.
• 2+ Years of Grit: Experience in a manufacturing environment (Automotive preferred), specifically dealing with equipment controls, network design, or embedded systems.
Technical Toolkit
• The Language of Machines: Proficiency in PLC logic (Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, or Omron).
• The Visionary Edge: Hands-on experience with computer vision (segmentation, pose estimation, 3D vision) using tools like C++, Python, HALCON, or Keyence.
• Data Fluency: Ability to apply Deep Learning and ML techniques to raw sensor data.
• Analytical Mindset: Experience with signal analysis (vibration/audio) to predict machine failure before it happens.
The Ideal Candidate
• The Creator Mindset: You don't wait for a manual; you build the solution.
• Risk-Aware Innovation: You are excited by new tech but understand the high stakes of a production environment—you build for reliability.
• Collaborative: You can talk "code" with developers and "torque" with plant floor operators.
