Search Engineer (AI) at BairesDev

As a Search Engineer (AI), you will design and implement advanced retrieval systems for AI applications. You will translate complex user intent into efficient search architectures, ensuring that RAG systems deliver highly relevant and accurate information at scale.

What You'll Do

• Design and manage vector database architectures to support semantic search.
• Develop and optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, focusing on embeddings and chunking strategies.
• Implement sophisticated reranking techniques such as ColBERT and Reciprocal Rank Fusion to improve result precision.
• Build and maintain hybrid search solutions that combine keyword and vector-based retrieval methods.
• Evaluate and iterate on search performance using frameworks like RAGAS to ensure production-grade reliability.
• Collaborate with AI teams to integrate search components into broader agentic workflows and LLM applications.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, AI Engineering, or Data Engineering.
• Proven expertise in building and optimizing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and working with vector databases like Pinecone, Qdrant, or Weaviate.
• Hands-on experience with embedding techniques, chunking strategies, and reranking algorithms.
• Familiarity with RAG evaluation frameworks such as RAGAS to ensure system performance.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
