About The Role
We are seeking an experienced engineer to partner with our Principal Engineer on the next generation of intelligent applications, and to build them the way we now build software: spec driven development with agentic coding harnesses. You will write rigorous specifications, operate and extend our agentic tooling, and review generated code to a high standard, while designing and shipping the AI capabilities inside our products. Just as importantly, you will deliver key product features within our squads, so this is a hands-on delivery role as much as a methodology and tooling one.
This role suits someone who understands that in an agentic workflow the work relocates rather than disappears: specification, architecture, verification, and harness design become the craft. Operating with high autonomy, you will tackle complex technical challenges, establish engineering best practices, and elevate the engineers around you. Key Responsibilities
- AI Architecture: Partner with leadership to design, scale, and own resilient subsystems for AI-driven products.
- Feature Delivery: Ship end-to-end features in product squads, ensuring elite code quality for human and agent-generated code.
- Spec-Driven Workflows: Lead our core delivery method by authoring precise specs and driving agentic implementation.
- Harness Engineering: Build and extend our agentic infrastructure, including MCP integrations and secure tool calling.
- Innovation & Strategy: Evaluate and prototype cutting-edge AI technologies and frameworks to solve business problems.
- Team Mentorship: Coach engineers in mastering spec-driven methods, context engineering, and modern CI/CD standards.
- Project Leadership: Guide complex technical projects from concept to launch while successfully navigating ambiguity.
- Quality Evangelism: Enforce rigorous standards for automated testing, secure coding, and AI model evaluations.
- Communication: Translate complex technical AI constraints into clear updates for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven Engineering Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of owning and delivering complex features.
- Strong Fundamentals: Language and framework agnostic with deep architectural judgment and a history of shipping production systems.
- Applied Agentic Background: Experience building secure agent loops, MCP servers, and tool integrations. Spec-driven development is your default workflow.
- AI Ecosystem Proficiency: Practical knowledge of model providers (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Vertex AI) and agentic protocols like Model Context Protocol. LangChain/LangGraph is a plus.
- Architectural & Security Mindset: Strong understanding of system design, distributed architectures, and the agentic threat model (e.g., prompt injection, over-permissioned tools).
- Verification Instinct: A high bar for automated testing, evals, and guardrails to ensure agentic workflows amplify quality, not bugs.
- Clear Communication: Ability to translate complex technical constraints and AI strategies to engineers, QAs, and non-technical stakeholders alike.
