As a Sales Engineer, you will learn how these platforms work—both technically and functionally—and how they are used in real-world customer environments.


The Role

This is not a traditional sales position. It is a technical role with a customer-facing component—ideal for people who enjoy understanding technology, explaining it, and translating it into meaningful solutions together with customers.

We do not expect you to join as a healthcare interoperability expert.

What matters most is that you bring solid technical foundations, curiosity, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to learn. Depending on your experience, you will enter the role with different levels of responsibility. What matters is not whether you already know healthcare standards, but whether you have the technical background and motivation to grow within this field.


In this role, you will work with topics such as:


  • Healthcare data platforms and interoperability
  • APIs, databases, data models, and integration architectures
  • HL7, FHIR, IHE, and other healthcare standards
  • InterSystems IRIS for Health and HealthShare
  • Analytics, Data Fabric, Generative AI, RAG, and Agentic AI in healthcare environments
  • Product demonstrations, technical analyses, solution designs, and proof-of-concepts
  • Customer discussions involving technical teams, business stakeholders, and management


You will remain close to the technology itself: analyzing technical requirements, working with APIs, data models, and integration scenarios, and collaborating with experienced colleagues to develop demonstrations, solution concepts, and proof-of-concepts.

At the same time, you will gain insight into how technology can improve healthcare delivery, operational processes, and decision-making.


Your Onboarding and Development


You will grow into the role step by step. Initially, your focus will be on understanding our products, common healthcare use cases, our customers, and the fundamentals of Sales Engineering.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues, help prepare demonstrations and workshops, support technical research activities, and gradually build expertise in healthcare data, integration, APIs, analytics, and AI.

As your experience grows, you will progressively take ownership of your own responsibilities, such as demo components, technical analyses, solution concepts, proof-of-concept contributions, and responses to customer questions in collaboration with the team.

This is not a conventional entry-level position—it is an opportunity to take ownership early and grow quickly.

Healthcare interoperability, data platforms, and AI are complex topics. That is precisely what makes them so exciting.

You do not need to know everything on day one. What matters is that you are curious, willing to learn independently, comfortable asking questions, and genuinely interested in developing expertise in a challenging and fascinating environment.

Over time, you will grow both technically and professionally toward a Senior Sales Engineer role, taking on increasing technical and customer-facing responsibilities.


What You Bring


We are not looking for fully formed healthcare IT experts.

We are looking for people with strong technical foundations, quick learning abilities, and the desire to develop within a sophisticated and evolving environment.

You are likely to be a good fit if you:


  • Hold a degree in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Business Informatics, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Or have initial professional experience in software development, software architecture, technical consulting, data engineering, or healthcare IT
  • Have a solid understanding of software development, databases, APIs, or distributed systems
  • Have experience with at least one programming language, such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or a similar language
  • Understand SQL and relational databases
  • Enjoy analyzing technical problems and developing solutions
  • Can explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable way
  • Are curious about healthcare, data, interoperability, cloud technologies, and AI
  • Enjoy working with people and want not only to build technology but also to explain it
  • Are comfortable working in both German and English
  • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a strong willingness to learn
  • Prior experience with HL7, FHIR, IHE, or healthcare integration is not required. These are areas you will learn with us.
