The Gen AI Engineer designs and refines AI-generated prompts using advanced LLMs such as GPT-4 and BERT, supporting validation cycles and applying NLP/ML techniques to evaluate and optimize model performance. They collaborate with senior leaders, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business objectives, while clearly communicating technical insights to non-technical audiences. The role also involves developing AWS-based applications, testing and improving system performance, staying current with AI advancements, and contributing to team growth through mentoring and best practice sharing.
The Role
- Design and refinement of AI-generated text prompts using forefront generative LLMs (e.g., GPT4) and discriminative LLMs like BERT.
- Design and lead validation and iteration cycles.
- Engage with senior leaders, stakeholders, content experts, and product units for collaborative decision-making.
- Optimize our language models ensuring they echo Unum's objectives.
- Employ advanced NLP and ML methodologies for thorough evaluation of LLMs.
- Communicate technical outcomes clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Oversee and enhance AI prompt efficacy, keeping abreast with AI innovations.
- Mentor junior colleagues, imparting software engineering best practices.
- Develop applications utilizing AWS Technologies.
- Identify and address system/software discrepancies through rigorous testing.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent relevant business experience
- 2+ years experience with demonstrated success at the Associate level in software development and software development practices or equivalent experience
- Shows evidence of analytical ability
- Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail
- Knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies
- Self motivated and results oriented
- Takes an innovative approach to problem solving
- Demonstrates strong focus on quality delivery and delighting customers; holds self to high standards of delivery
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning and prompt engineering frameworks
- Familiarity with MLOps and model lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with evaluation and benchmarking of LLMs
