Lead SRE - Fintech - up to $250k base + bonus

This is an opportunity to build a function, not just join one.

You'll take ownership of production infrastructure for a high-performance trading firm, transforming systems administration from tribal knowledge into a modern engineering discipline.

You'll define the standards, automate everything that should be automated, and build an environment that's reliable, repeatable and resilient.

It's a hands-on leadership role. You'll still be deep in Linux, networking and Infrastructure as Code, but you'll also shape the long-term direction of the platform, mentor engineers and influence how the business approaches reliability as it continues to grow.

The technology itself is genuinely interesting. The firm's trading platform operates with single-digit millisecond latency on bare-metal Linux, while Azure is used to power development environments, storage and research workloads. With major platform upgrades already underway and legacy and modern systems running side by side, you'll have the chance to lead significant infrastructure change rather than simply maintain what already exists.

Beyond keeping production stable, you'll own incident response, recovery planning, capacity management and deployment strategy, working closely with developers to remove operational bottlenecks before they become problems. The goal isn't firefighting—it's building systems that don't catch fire in the first place.

We're looking for someone who enjoys creating order from complexity. Someone who's led production environments, thrives with Linux and automation, and knows how to scale both infrastructure and the people behind it. Experience in trading or other real-time, mission-critical environments is highly valued, but just as important is the mindset to build, improve and continually challenge the status quo.
