About Tiebreak Solutions
Tiebreak is a Sofia-based software and infrastructure company behind a high-performance trading platform and a marketing/CRM platform. We're in the middle of a significant transition — consolidating and modernizing our systems as we move from legacy on-premise infrastructure to a cloud-native setup on AWS. It's a rare moment to join: enough scale and real production traffic to make the work matter, and enough greenfield ahead to genuinely influence how it gets built.
The role
We're in the middle of something rewarding: moving off legacy Windows and on-premise infrastructure onto a modern cloud-native platform. This isn't maintaining someone else's finished system — you'll help build it, run it, and improve how it all works, from legacy through to production.
We care far more about how you think and how you work than about the exact tools on your CV.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Build and support applications and infrastructure across our estate — the cloud-native platform we're building and the legacy systems we're migrating away from.
- Implement and own production-ready infrastructure as code, and the operational decisions that come with it.
- Automate and improve how we build, ship and run software.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and make things more reliable over time.
- Bring AI into how we work — from AI-assisted operations to running AI-backed services in production.
- Learn constantly, and share what you learn.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 2+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform or systems engineering — or a background that clearly translates. More is welcome; we care about range and judgment more than years.
- Is genuinely tool-agnostic and pragmatic — comfortable across Linux and Windows, cloud and on-prem, new and legacy, and picks the right tool for the job rather than the favorite one.
- Writes solid scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python — whatever fits) and can read and reason about code.
- Understands infrastructure as code and why it matters (we use Terraform, Salt and Ansible, but the mindset transfers).
- Has worked with a major cloud (AWS in our case) and/or containers and orchestration (Kubernetes / EKS) — or is clearly ready to.
- Values good observability and knows how to instrument, alert and debug a real production system.
- Is curious about AI and eager to bring it into the work — enthusiasm counts more than prior experience here.
- Works independently and takes ownership, but is also a real team player — shares context, asks for help, and lifts others up.
- Solves problems methodically, communicates clearly in English, and stays curious as the ground shifts.
Nice to have
- Experience leading or mentoring a team,
- Experience with large-scale production environments,
- Secrets management (Vault),
- Messaging systems (Kafka),
- CI/CD systems (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins) or basic database administration (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
What We Offer
- Competitive remuneration package.
- Supplemental medical insurance.
- Opportunities for training and professional development.
- Friendly and supportive team environment.
- Exposure to global projects and technologies.
