The opportunity
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity as a Market Manager High Voltage . In this role you will be leading the local business unit in the United Kingdom from commercial development to market positioning.
You will report to the Demand Marketing & Sales Manager Northern Europe (High Voltage Products) and lead a cross-functional team of sales, tendering, and support professionals across the UK (typically 15-25 people, direct and indirect).
You will have accountability for the overall business performance in the UK market, including order intake, profitability, and market share, with full ownership of the P&L.

How you'll make an impact
- Recruit, coach and mentor sales managers and related team members, fostering growth and accountability.
- Define and implement the UK sales market strategy aligned with our European Hub objectives.
- Own and manage the UK High Voltage business group, P&L, including order intake, revenue, margin, and cash performance.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking.
- Identify and develop key market segments (TSOs, DNOs, EPCs, data centres, renewables) and drive growth.
- Promote the full High Voltage portfolio (GIS, AIS, LTB, Hybrid, Power Quality, EconiQ solutions).
- Own key customer relationships, lead complex sales processes, including pricing and contractual negotiations.
- Coordinate with sales, tendering, project management, and factories to ensure alignment.
Your background
- Extensive experience in High Voltage = business, sales, or market management desired.
- Sales Management experience within the Energy sector required.
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
- Proven experience in leading sales and tendering teams and business units within cross-functional organisations.
- Strong track record in High Voltage substations, EPC projects, or related technologies.
- A good understanding of the UK energy market (National Grid, DNOs, EPCs) is required.
- Excellent communicator with Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required by the role.
- Valid UK driving license is essential for this role.
- Candidates from business management backgrounds will also be considered if supported by strong technical experience.
