Within CDO, the Cross Platform Engineering and Reference Architecture team partners with the Chief Development Experience Office (CDXO) to modernize software delivery through Path to Production – Release Cargo Management (P2P RCM), helping engineering teams accelerate deployments while meeting security, compliance, and governance requirements.
We are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the design and implementation of enterprise DevSecOps solutions, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native deployment frameworks. This hands-on technical leadership role will focus on creating reusable GitHub Actions workflows, OpenShift deployment patterns, Harness CD automation, and security/compliance controls that enable predictable and audit-ready software delivery across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop reusable GitHub Actions, CI/CD templates, and deployment automation frameworks.
- Build and maintain standardized deployment patterns using Harness CD and OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- Integrate security and quality controls into pipelines, including Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck, GitHub Secret Scanning, and DAST.
- Create reference architectures, starter repositories, implementation guides, and engineering standards.
- Enable adoption of P2P RCM through automation, onboarding support, and developer enablement.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, and DevSecOps best practices.
- Drive platform engineering excellence through golden-path repositories, reusable patterns, and DORA metrics.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate across Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Governance teams.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Strong software engineering experience with advanced Python development and a track record of leading complex engineering initiatives.
- Expertise building web applications and APIs using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, and Flask.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing CI/CD automation and DevOps practices, including GitHub Actions and reusable workflow development.
- Hands-on experience integrating security and quality scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines, including Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck, GitHub Secret Scanning, and DAST.
- Experience with cloud-native platforms and container orchestration technologies, including OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and operating deployment automation using Harness CD or comparable deployment tools, including promotion, approvals, and rollback strategies.
- Strong DevSecOps and application security engineering experience, including compliance automation and vulnerability management.
- Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, security, platform, architecture, and governance organizations to deliver reusable standards and drive adoption.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot in a professional engineering environment.
- Deep expertise in Python development, including modern development patterns, packaging, dependency management, and test automation using Pytest. (preferred)
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale Django applications; familiarity with Wagtail CMS and Wagtail CRX (CodeRed CMS) is highly desirable. (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift and Kubernetes platform engineering, including multi-tenant environments, governance, observability, and operational best practices. (preferred)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, and ArgoCD. (preferred)
- Deep understanding of enterprise branching strategies, repository governance, and release management practices. (preferred)
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability platforms, and incident management workflows. (preferred)
- Familiarity with API-first design and spec-driven development approaches. (preferred)
