THE LEAD PLATFORM ENGINEER ROLE

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across complex cloud programmes while maintaining strong engineering credibility. You will influence architecture, engineering standards and delivery decisions, helping teams build secure, scalable and supportable platforms.

• Lead the design and evolution of secure, large-scale AWS platforms
• Set technical direction across Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD
• Assess new technologies and improve engineering standards and code quality
• Own complex technical and delivery risks through to resolution
• Translate technical decisions for senior, client and non-technical stakeholders
• Develop engineering capability through mentoring, delegation and knowledge sharing

LEAD PLATFORM ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Extensive hands-on Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience
• Expert-level AWS and Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux and CI/CD
• Evidence of leading architecture, technical strategy or complex engineering delivery
• Experience influencing stakeholders across teams, programmes or client environments
• A track record of mentoring engineers and raising technical standards
• Ability to remain technically engaged while leading and delegating effectively

Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance. The role is aligned to Greater London, although travel to client or other UK sites may be required.
