We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support secure software delivery, infrastructure automation, observability, and platform operations for a cloud-native, event-driven AWS environment serving the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role contributes to CI/CD pipelines, automated environment provisioning, containerized deployments, and security integration for Kafka/MSK-based event streaming, RPC-driven services, and real-time WebSocket applications. The DevSecOps Engineer works closely with cloud engineers, developers, security personnel, and operations teams to improve delivery speed, repeatability, reliability, and compliance.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and related tools for automated build, test, security, and deployment workflows.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Packer for repeatable AWS environment provisioning and configuration.
- Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Integrate code, dependency, container, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration security checks into delivery pipelines.
- Implement secure secrets management, IAM policies, encryption, access controls, and configuration practices using Vault and AWS-native capabilities.
- Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and comparable tools.
