The ideal candidate has strong experience in cloud-native observability, system integrations, and distributed systems, and is comfortable working closely with internal customers and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and data-driven observability solutions across multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead customer onboarding and technical enablement for Cloud Observability services across multi-cloud environments.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable telemetry and observability integrations across logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into robust, cloud-native observability solutions.
  • Implement and support telemetry pipelines for ingestion, transformation, enrichment, filtering, and routing of observability data.
  • Work with tools such as OpenTelemetry, Logstash, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch to ensure reliable data flow and observability coverage.
  • Validate end-to-end telemetry routing, data quality, and pipeline correctness across environments.
  • Support go-live readiness activities, including dry runs, operational readiness checks, and post-deployment validation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide production support for Cloud Observability services.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems, including ingestion failures, missing telemetry, and pipeline degradation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, and Operations teams.
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and integration guides.
  • Manage requests and delivery tasks using ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of observability platforms and adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or observability engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets).
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, tokens, mTLS).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows (GitHub/GitLab, pull requests, branching strategies).
  • Experience working with observability platforms such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch (indexing, queries, dashboards, ingestion pipelines).
  • Solid understanding of telemetry concepts: logs, metrics, traces, and OpenTelemetry principles.
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes (parsing, transformation, enrichment, filtering, routing).
  • Experience debugging distributed systems and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python (OOP), especially for automation or integration tasks.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD automation tools.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and Jira workflows.
  • Experience in production support or SRE-style on-call environments.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry Collector architecture and pipelines.
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.).
  • Knowledge of multi-tenant or large-scale enterprise observability systems.
  • Strong technical documentation and knowledge-sharing abilities.
  • Experience in SAP or large enterprise cloud environments.

Additional Technical Requirements:

  • Observability pipelines: Hands-on experience designing and maintaining log/metric/trace ingestion pipelines.
  • Data processing: Strong understanding of transformation, enrichment, normalization, and validation of telemetry data.
  • System troubleshooting: Ability to trace issues across distributed systems and identify root causes in ingestion or routing layers.
  • Kubernetes-based deployment models for observability services.
  • Familiarity with high-volume telemetry systems and performance considerations.
  • Understanding of alerting frameworks and event correlation concepts.
  • Ability to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across observability platforms.
