Our client, a global technology organisation, is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join its Kubernetes Engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on a large scale, enterprise Kubernetes platform supporting critical services across a global environment.
You'll play a key role in scaling, securing and automating a rapidly growing multi cloud platform while working alongside highly experienced engineers who value operational excellence, automation and modern infrastructure practices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and enhance a global production Kubernetes platform running across bare metal, virtual machines and public cloud.
- Deliver Kubernetes and operating system upgrades, security patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Build and improve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Helm and GitOps workflows.
- Develop automation and tooling using Golang, Python, Bash and Ansible.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure deployments and testing.
- Support production workloads, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and improve platform reliability.
- Enhance monitoring, observability and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Deploy and support networking and storage solutions for Kubernetes workloads.
- Leverage AI driven tools and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce incident resolution times.
- Collaborate with engineers to continuously improve platform scalability, resilience and developer experience.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands on experience operating Kubernetes in production environments.
- 5+ years of Linux Systems Engineering experience.
- Strong Kubernetes administration, including workload management and control plane configuration.
- Strong Linux networking, container networking and virtualisation experience.
- Hands on experience with Terraform, Helm, FluxCD and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with production Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices.
- Strong automation skills using Golang, Python or Bash, Golang is preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise scale Kubernetes platforms and solving real production incidents.
- Strong understanding of load balancing, TCP, HTTP and storage technologies.
- Ability to work across infrastructure and software engineering with an automation first mindset.
Nice to Have
- ArgoCD experience.
- NVMe over TCP knowledge.
- Kubernetes Operator development.
- CKA, RHCE, LFCS or public cloud certifications.
- Experience across AWS, Azure and GCP.
- Third level qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
