What you’ll do
Platform Engineering
- Build and improve compute platforms (Compute Engine, managed instance groups, GKE, container runtimes)
- Implement and enhance GCP networking components (VPCs, peering, Private Service Connect, Cloud DNS, load balancing)
- Contribute to secure and scalable network topologies across environments
- Implement agreed platform patterns and standards for compute and networking
- Deliver platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Improve automation and CI/CD pipelines for platform changes
- Work with senior engineers to improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Participate in incident response and post-incident improvements
- Work alongside senior platform engineers and architects on design and rollout
- Support application teams consuming compute and networking capabilities
- Contribute documentation, examples, and runbooks
- Provide pragmatic feedback to help evolve platform standards over time, including incident response and SLO ownership
- 3–7+ years experience in cloud or platform engineering
- Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong understanding of cloud compute and networking fundamentals
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Familiarity with GCP networking primitives (VPCs, firewall rules, private connectivity)
- Comfortable operating Linux-based workloads
- Experience with other cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
- Exposure to GKE or Kubernetes in production
- Familiarity with multi-project or landing zone–style setups
- Experience in high-availability or security-conscious environments
