Role : AWS DevOps Engineer

Location: Sydney / Brisbane
Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline for automated build, test, and deployment processes. Implement blue-green deployments, canary releases, and rolling updates to minimize downtime during production releases. Manage containerized application deployments on Kubernetes/EKS clusters with Helm charts and Kustomize configurations. Coordinate release schedules, conduct deployment reviews, and ensure compliance with change management processes.
Production Support and Operations
Provide 24/7 production support for critical AWS infrastructure and applications, responding to incidents and conducting root cause analysis. Monitor system health, performance metrics, and resource utilization using New Relic APM, CloudWatch, and custom dashboards. Implement proactive alerting strategies and automated remediation workflows to reduce MTTR. Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and resource right-sizing to maintain operational efficiency.
Monitoring with New Relic
- Configure and maintain New Relic monitoring solutions including APM, Infrastructure monitoring, Logs, and Synthetic monitoring.
- Create custom dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide visibility into application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience metrics.
- Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and improve system reliability.
- Integrate New Relic with incident management tools and establish SLA monitoring frameworks.
Required Technical Skills
- Candidates must demonstrate deep expertise in AWS services including EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route53, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Container orchestration skills with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS are mandatory, including experience with pod scheduling, service mesh, persistent volumes, and cluster autoscaling.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible is essential for automated infrastructure management.
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell are required for automation development.
- CI/CD pipeline expertise with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline is critical.
- New Relic monitoring knowledge is mandatory, covering APM configuration, custom instrumentation, dashboard creation, and alert management.
- Additional required skills include version control with Git, configuration management, security best practices, and networking fundamentals.
