At Halon, we’re building the backbone of business-critical communication: Dynamic Email Operations. Email remains the #1 channel for global business, and we power it with secure, scalable infrastructure for some of the most demanding environments.
As we enter the next phase of our growth, we’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Tech team. You’ll play a key role in building, scaling, and operating the infrastructure that protects our customers from spam and malware with real ownership and impact from day one.

What you will own:
- Ensure high availability and reliability of our production systems
- Design, build, and scale our infrastructure to support growing customer demand
- Automate operational processes and improve system efficiency
- Operate and continuously improve our production environment
- Analyze incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term improvements
- Evaluate and implement new technologies (POCs)
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design and support new features
- Maintain clear and structured documentation of systems and processes
- Participate in an on-call rotation (2-week shifts)
What makes you successful at Halon:
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration (preferably Debian)
- Experience with at least one of the following: Kubernetes, Kafka, or Elastic
- Strong knowledge of tools such as Ansible, Git, GitLab CI, NGINX, or similar
- Solid understanding of automation, infrastructure, and system reliability
- Hands-on mindset and ability to work in complex environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and experience working in international teams
- Basic knowledge of networking, firewalls, and load balancers (deeper expertise is a plus)
- Fluent in English (German is a plus, but not required)
