Maltem Asia is currently seeking Splunk Observability Engineer for a Hospitality Management domain client in Bangkok, Thailand
Role: Observability Engineer
Your key responsibilities will include
- :Splunk Platform Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize Splunk Observability Cloud and Splunk Cloud platforms for log management
- .Data Ingestion: Deploy and configure OpenTelemetry Collectors for metrics and traces collection, as well as Splunk forwarders for log ingestion
- .User Support and Training: Provide user support and conduct training sessions to promote good observability practices and maximize the value derived from Splunk solutions
- .Compliance and Security: Ensure that our observability systems and practices comply with PCI DSS regulations
- .Development and Integration: Design and develop Python applications, add-ons, or custom integrations to extend Splunk Observability capabilities
- .Expertise and Tech Watch: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on observability topics, proposing complementary solutions (e.g., ELK, Grafana) when appropriate

- :Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Work closely with various internal teams to integrate data sources, build relevant dashboards, configure effective detectors, and set up alerts

sBackground and Required Skills
- :Proven experience with Splunk Observability Cloud (including Infra Monitoring, APM, Log Observer) and Splunk Cloud Log
- .Proficiency in OpenTelemetry Collector deployment & configuration
- .Familiarity with alternative observability tools such as ELK Stack, Grafana, and Prometheus
- .Experience with AWS cloud services, particularly in logging and storage
- .Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems in both on-premise and cloud environments
.Education and Certifications
- :Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- .5-7 years of experience in observability or monitoring engineering
- .Splunk O11y Cloud Certified Metrics User certification is a plus
- .Splunk Cloud Certified Architect certification is a plus
