Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Database Operations

Location: Chandler, AZ (hybrid 3 days onsite per week)

Pay Scale: $65-70/hr W2

Duration: 12 months assignment with possible extension up to 24 months

Job Description:

Matlen Silver is recruiting for a Site Reliability Engineer to leads the design and implementation of automated patching and vulnerability remediation solutions across database platforms (DB2, CockroachDB, AlloyDB Omni). This role focuses on delivering secure, resilient, and fully automated database operations in hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated, end-to-end patching and remediation solutions
• Manage vulnerability remediation and ensure compliance with security standards
• Build scalable, resilient architectures across hybrid cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Develop automation using Python, APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver production-ready solutions

Desired Skills:

• Exposure to observability tools (Guardium or Foglight nice to have)
• Experience with distributed databases (CockroachDB, PostgreSQL/AlloyDB preferred)
• Experience with automated patching / vulnerability remediation
• Knowledge of container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
• Strong hands-on experience with DB2 nice to have
