Solution Architect

At ING Hubs Türkiye, we're looking for a Solution Architect who enjoys translating complex business challenges into scalable technology solutions, driving architectural decisions, and shaping the future state of critical banking platforms across ING's international ecosystem.

This is more than a solution design role. You'll collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, define end-to-end architectures, contribute to modernization initiatives, and help engineering teams deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions that serve millions of customers worldwide.

Role Summary

As a Solution Architect, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving the technology landscape of your domain. Working closely with Product Owners, Domain Architects, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, you will translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while ensuring alignment with ING's architectural principles and strategic roadmap.

You will contribute to large-scale transformation programs, API-driven ecosystems, microservices-based platforms, cloud adoption initiatives, and integration architectures while helping teams balance scalability, maintainability, security, and speed of delivery.

The solutions you design don't stay local — they contribute to platforms and services used across ING's international banking network, creating impact well beyond our office in Istanbul.

Work Model

Our hybrid way of working is designed to balance collaboration, innovation, and personal flexibility. Team members typically come together at our Vadistanbul office for two days per week during three weeks of the month, while one week each month is fully remote.

We also offer additional flexibility during the summer period, with remote working opportunities throughout August, allowing colleagues to spend more time where they feel most productive while staying connected to their teams.

As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations while contributing to solutions that create impact across the bank.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development and solution delivery, preferably within Agile environments
• Experience working as a Solution Architect or in a similar architectural role within complex organizations
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remove impediments and drive progress
• Analytical mindset for designing end-to-end technology solutions
• Experience interpreting business requirements and transforming them into technical architectures
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
• Fluent English communication skills (C1 level or above)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related disciplines

Architecture & Solution Design

You'll play a critical role in defining and maintaining technology solutions that support ING's strategic objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Shape solution architectures aligned with business and technology objectives
• Interpret functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into technical designs
• Define system interactions, integration patterns, and data exchange mechanisms
• Participate in feasibility studies, impact assessments, and solution evaluations for new initiatives
• Support Epic and User Story refinement activities from a solution design perspective
• Collaborate with engineers throughout the development lifecycle to ensure architectural alignment
• Perform detailed functional and technical analysis and design activities
• Support testing phases and problem determination processes
• Evaluate architectural alternatives by balancing costs, benefits, risks, and implementation effort
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers in defining technology and integration requirements
• Contribute to architectural governance, standards, and best practices
• Work closely with international teams across ING to deliver scalable and future-ready solutions
