Senior DevOps Engineer

If you're someone who doesn't just manage infrastructure but architects it, mentors teams, and drives engineering culture - we want to talk to you.
What You'll Be Doing
Infrastructure & Platform
- Architect and own end-to-end cloud infrastructure strategy across AWS, GCP, Azure - including multi-region, multi-account setups
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems
- Own platform engineering initiatives - building internal developer platforms (IDPs) that improve engineering velocity across teams
- Drive cloud cost optimization strategies with measurable impact on burn rate
- Architect and govern CI/CD pipelines across multiple product teams and microservices
- Define and enforce release management standards, branching strategies, and deployment patterns
- Lead migration of legacy deployment workflows to modern GitOps-based delivery (ArgoCD, FluxCD)
- Own DevSecOps practices - integrating security scanning, SAST, DAST, secrets management, and compliance checks into pipelines
- Lead SOC2, ISO 27001, or equivalent compliance initiatives from an infrastructure perspective
- Define access control policies, network segmentation, and zero-trust architecture
- Define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across services in collaboration with engineering leads
- Build and own the full observability stack - metrics, logs, traces (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
- Lead incident response, blameless post-mortems, and systemic reliability improvements
- Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers - code reviews, architecture walkthroughs, and growth planning
- Partner with CTOs and Engineering Heads at startup clients to align infrastructure roadmap with product goals
- Represent DevOps in cross-functional planning - sprint reviews, architecture councils, and hiring decisions
- Document infrastructure decisions via ADRs (Architecture Decision Records) and runbooks
- 5–8 years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering experience in product companies or startups
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS strongly preferred) - including VPC design, IAM, networking, and managed services
- Production-grade Kubernetes experience - cluster management, autoscaling, RBAC, network policies
- Strong Infrastructure as Code skills - Terraform at scale, including modules, remote state, and multi-environment management
- Demonstrated experience owning reliability and on-call for production systems at meaningful traffic scale
- Solid programming, scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash for tooling and automation
- Experience building or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform (Backstage, Port, or custom)
- Multi-cloud or hybrid cloud exposure
- FinOps experience — cloud cost attribution, rightsizing, reserved instance strategy
- Contributions to open-source DevOps tooling or active community presence
- Startup experience where you've set up infrastructure from scratch (greenfield)
- You've built things from zero — not just maintained what others set up
- You can influence without authority — engineers trust your technical judgment
- You balance speed and stability — you know when to move fast and when to slow down
- You write clear documentation — runbooks, RCAs, and ADRs that teams actually use
- You have a product mindset — you think about developer experience as a product you own
- Senior-level roles at well-funded, technically ambitious startups in Bangalore
- Work on real infrastructure challenges at scale - not ticket-driven ops work
- Competitive compensation with equity upside at many client companies
- Direct visibility with CTOs and founding engineering teams
- Opportunity to shape DevOps culture and practices from the ground up
