Cloud Engineer

Do you enjoy working independently on challenging Azure projects, and would you like to be part of a small, close-knit, international cloud team? For an organization that emerged from the merger of several companies and is actively building a single, centralized cloud platform, we're looking for an enthusiastic Cloud Ops Engineer with in-depth Azure knowledge.

About the role

As a Cloud Ops Engineer, you'll take on a broad, technical role within Microsoft technologies, with a clear focus on both IaaS and PaaS. You think proactively about solutions, work independently, and aren't afraid to make your own decisions without constantly checking in with others. The organization serves multiple clients, each with their own cloud environment, plenty of variety and responsibility. You'll provision new infrastructure, handle user management (Entra ID/AD), and help scale and secure existing Azure environments.

What you'll work with:

• Azure IaaS: provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and backups of VMs
• Azure PaaS components: App Service, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Front Door, VNETs
• Best practices for redundancy, failover, and scalability
• User management: Azure AD, RBAC, SSO, Intune
• PowerShell and Azure Automation
• Administration and management of M365
• On-premises Active Directory

About the organisation

You'll join an organization that emerged from the merger of several companies and is working hard to build a single, future-proof cloud platform for its diverse client base. The cloud team is small and international: your colleagues are based in the Netherlands, the UK, and the US, and support each other closely. You'll work closely with a team based in the Arnhem region. There's plenty of room to work independently and help shape the platform.

Who are you

• At least 2-3 years of daily, hands-on experience with Azure
• Strong knowledge of both IaaS and PaaS
• An enthusiastic, fast-learning mid-level professional who's genuinely into Azure
