About The Role
Travelfusion is seeking a skilled Test (QA) Automation Engineer to join our growing automation team in Thessaloniki. This is a hands-on technical role focused on developing automated test solutions for our back-end systems and APIs. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of our software releases by optimising existing and implementing new robust automated testing frameworks. Working closely with developers and the manual QA team, you will help build tools and processes that prevent defects, improve release confidence, and support our continuous integration and deployment practices.
This position would suit a QA Automation Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving software quality, and working within a highly collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation: Automate testing of core back-end code and services. Code Improvement: Improve and refactor existing code to increase configurability and isolation, enabling more effective automated test suites. API Analysis: Research, read and understand API specifications and technical documentation. Test Development: Design, implement and maintain automated test cases and test suites. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, coverage and release quality. Framework Development: Design, build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for API applications. Script Creation: Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate software functionality, performance and reliability. CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions to support continuous testing and rapid deployment. Defect Management: Identify, analyse and document software defects while working closely with development and QA teams to improve software testability. Maintenance & Support: Monitor test results, troubleshoot automation issues and maintain existing test frameworks and scripts. Test Suite Enhancement: Update and expand automated test suites to support new features and evolving business requirements.
About you Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent hands on experience. Java Development: Solid hands-on proficiency coding in Java. JUnit Testing: Ability to design, develop and maintain JUnit tests within an existing codebase. API Testing: Experience testing APIs and back-end services. Testing Tools: Knowledge of test logging, reporting and debugging tools. Automation Frameworks: Experience with modern test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or similar. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical abilities. Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with developers and QA teams in a collaborative environment.
