UNCOMN is seeking a Cloud Engineer 2 to:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure to support enterprise applications.
- Provision and maintain cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Support application deployments in cloud environments, including containerized workloads.
- Monitor system performance and availability, implementing solutions to optimize reliability and scalability.
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems and cloud-hosted databases in production environments.
- Manage identity and access controls using technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and federated authentication.
- Support and maintain AWS GovCloud environments in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization to balance performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with development and security teams to support application infrastructure and cloud operations.
- Document cloud architecture, configurations, and processes to ensure consistency and operational continuity.
- Stay current with evolving cloud technologies and best practices to support continuous improvement.
- 1-2 years of related experience, preferably within AWS environments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, CMIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or 4 additional years of related experience.
- Must be comfortable meeting Work Role ID 641 Intermediate DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF)/8140 requirements, obtaining professional certifications as required by the client/contract.
- Must hold an active CompTIA Security+ certification or obtain it within 30 days of the start of employment.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the US Government, which requires US citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, containerized workloads and Linux command-line fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Git; exposure to GitLab CI and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Helm/Kustomize, Terraform) is a plus.
- Awareness of API/Gateway, service mesh, or Zero Trust themes.
- Exposure to DevSecOps and policy-as-code (e.g. Kyverno).
- DoD/IC/government exposure helpful but not required if commercial or platform fundamentals are strong.
