Working independently within the project, you will provide technical leadership while driving architecture decisions and implementation of Kubernetes-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the architecture of Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native applications.
- Design and implement Kubernetes Operators using Go to automate complex application lifecycle management.
- Architect, design, and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable APIs following modern software architecture principles.
- Develop internal platform tooling and command-line utilities in Go and Python to streamline deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational excellence.
- Design and implement Kubernetes integrations with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and DevOps automation.
- Establish architecture standards, best practices, and governance for Kubernetes platform adoption across engineering teams.
- Collaborate with platform engineers, application developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to define technical roadmaps and solution architectures.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging Kubernetes and CNCF ecosystem technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities.
- Lead technical investigations, incident analysis, and root cause analysis for complex Kubernetes platform issues.
- Drive implementation of automated quality controls, security checks, and platform validation processes.
- Produce architectural documentation, technical designs, and support knowledge transfer across engineering teams.
- Extensive experience in software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native application design.
- Strong expertise in software design patterns, architecture principles, and API design.
- Proven experience designing and developing scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Advanced programming skills in Go and Python.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, Controllers, CRDs, Operators, admission controllers, and custom resources.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes Operator SDK, Kubebuilder, or equivalent operator frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Helm, Kustomize, GitOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes observability, including monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, etc.).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes security best practices and platform hardening.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor engineering teams and provide architectural guidance.
