Technical Lead

12-Month Initial Contract | Brisbane CBD | 50/50 Hybrid

We're seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering to join a major Queensland organisation undertaking a large-scale digital and technology transformation. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise cloud strategy, shape engineering standards, and lead the evolution of modern cloud platforms that underpin critical business services.

Operating as a senior technical authority, you'll work across cloud engineering, architecture, cyber security and delivery teams to define best practice, solve complex technical challenges, and drive platform excellence across AWS, Azure and hybrid environments.

What you'll be doing:

• Define and drive the enterprise cloud engineering roadmap across AWS, Azure, hybrid cloud and infrastructure platforms.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams, influencing architecture, standards and engineering practices.
• Design secure, scalable and resilient cloud and connectivity solutions for enterprise workloads.
• Establish and govern best practice across Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD, networking and platform engineering.
• Lead cloud networking and hybrid connectivity initiatives including technologies such as AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute and enterprise networking solutions.
• Champion platform engineering, automation, observability, reliability and operational excellence.
• Partner with architects, security, delivery and infrastructure teams to ensure platforms are production-ready, secure and cost-effective.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the ongoing uplift of cloud engineering capability across the organisation.

About you:

You'll be a senior cloud engineering professional who enjoys solving complex enterprise challenges and influencing technology direction beyond your immediate team.

You'll bring:

• Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise cloud solutions across AWS, Azure and hybrid environments.
• Previous experience operating as a Technical Lead, Principal Engineer or similar senior technical leadership role.
• Strong expertise across cloud infrastructure, networking, containers and modern application platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar tools.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, identity and compliance.
• Experience embedding resilience, disaster recovery, observability and operational excellence into enterprise platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
